massdelta

It learns what you burn.

Weigh in every morning. Log what you eat. massdelta works out your expenditure from the two, sets a target, and moves it only when the evidence is clear — and tells you why.

Coming to the App StoreiPhone, iOS 17.0 or later
MassDelta's Home screen: today's calories, weight, protein and macros, and the coach's card

The number

Formulas guess. This measures.

The Progress screen: the weight trend with its band, the expenditure estimate, and consistency

Every calorie app starts from a formula: height, weight, age, an activity guess. Then it holds that number for months while your body does something else.

MassDelta estimates what you actually burn from your own weigh-ins and your own log, and it keeps estimating. It separates water from tissue on the scale, so a salty dinner or a creatine dose does not read as fat. Uncertainty is part of the figure: it starts wide and narrows with every morning.

The target moves by rule, not by mood. When it moves, the app says why in one sentence, and the arithmetic behind every number is one tap away.

The coach

Ask Delta what to eat. It answers in your numbers.

Delta has every log, weigh-in and dose. Ask it where you are at 8 pm and it tells you what is left, what would close the gap, and puts the food one tap from your plate.

It reads research when a question needs it, from a short list of medical and nutrition sources, and it says where an answer came from.

It can be wrong. Delta is a language model. The app's own numbers are the ones to trust, and Delta is built to point at them rather than invent its own.

A conversation with Delta: a question at 8 pm, an answer with a yoghurt bowl, and a button to add it to today's plate

Logging

Describe it, say it, or photograph it.

The Food Log: a day's meals with calories and protein, and the plate being built

Type it or dictate it

“Chicken and rice, big bowl.” A server reads the plate back with calories and macros. Correct any figure with one tap; the correction teaches the next reading.

Photograph the plate, or the label

A photo of the food, or of the nutrition panel on a packet. Photos are read and then deleted after 24 hours unless you ask us to keep them.

Keep what you eat often

Save a plate as a meal and log it in one tap. Products you scan once stay in your library with their real figures.

Creatine

Log the dose. It does the maths.

Creatine pulls water into muscle, and the water shows on the scale — a kilo or two that is not tissue. Most trackers have no idea. MassDelta models it: log the dose, and the estimator keeps that water out of the tissue figure, so a loading week does not look like a fat gain and stopping does not look like a loss.
